20:59:03 codefujase: whats the difference between
20:59:21 codefujase: ms windows installer and • QGIS with GRASS toolbox
21:12:00 cgs_bob: codefujase: -QGIS? ;- )
21:13:30 codefujase: hehe, but dont know... amm, OK, Im new here, but Im in a search for do some like this: "plot" n points in a map and get the street names
21:14:20 codefujase: dont know if Im in the correct path ( I mean, I have watch google maps.. there are the streets, but I dont see how to plot say 1000 points in that map, and get the names where the points are )
21:14:39 codefujase: I only see that I need to click... but I will not click 1000 times...
21:19:02 cgs_bob: codefujase: you can do that in grass, but qgis might be what you want since it has the user friendly gui. btw, there are more active grass users on #qgis. you might want to ask your questions there
21:20:21 codefujase: OK, thx
21:20:53 cgs_bob: btw, there is even a geocode plugin that works with qgis
21:21:16 cgs_bob: you're welcome
21:21:22 codefujase: ammm, then I dont get it..... gqis is different than grass?
21:23:35 cgs_bob: think of qgis as a data viewer that can be extended with plugins. one of those plugins is the grass plugin. the grass plugin adds a simple gui interface to grass ( which is included with the qgis ms installer )
21:26:17 cgs_bob: btw, grass also has a nice gui. obviously all of the options are exposed while the qgis grass gui is dumbed down to make it easer for beginners
21:28:52 codefujase: I see, aparently I cant access the "QGIS with GRASS toolbox"
21:30:03 codefujase: but I have download wingrass 6.3 ( 30 + Mb ) and now QGIS 0.10 ( 60+Mb )
21:30:24 cgs_bob: you mean there is problems with the website or you are having a problem installing it?
21:32:28 codefujase: with website...
21:33:11 codefujase: http://qgis.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=65&Itemid=71
21:33:16 codefujase: timeouts of response
21:33:28 codefujase: perhaps because the download of QGIS
