07:09:29 ct529: how do you duplicate a vector in grass?
07:22:00 epifanio: ct529: g.copy ? http://grass.osgeo.org/grass64/manuals/html64_user/g.copy.html g.copy vect=oldvectname,newvectname
07:22:01 sigq: Title: GRASS GIS manual: g.copy ( at grass.osgeo.org )
07:22:58 ct529: I have serache dthe documentation but did not come up with it?
08:32:47 ct529: epifanio: I have a vector of points X, and a raster map Y. The vector represents sites. The raster represents a surface of predictors. Some site send up in the sea, behind the border of the country.
08:33:38 ct529: I would like to run v.sample or v.what rast to see what is the value of the raster in the points identified by the vector, but unfortunately I do not have the values for the points which fall just out ....
08:33:55 ct529: is there a way to assign values, like extending the raster outside the area by smoothing?
08:54:50 epifanio: you can modify raster using r.mapcalc or summ 2 different rasters using r.patch
08:56:01 ct529: epifanio: why woudl I need to do that?
08:56:20 ct529: epifanio: do you mean I can extend the maps?

17:03:58 delrocas: Is there an irc channel where mrsid is not off topic?
17:04:54 wildintellect: depends on what about mrsid you want to talk about?
17:11:01 delrocas: I'm tying to install gdal with mrsid support. I'm trying to figure out what I've got to get off the lizardtech site. Let me get the question worded here. Back in a few. Thanks.
17:13:51 wildintellect: delrocas, I can help you with that #gdal is a fine place to discuss it
17:17:46 wildintellect: delrocas, assuming your talking about linux this is the magic guide http://n2.nabble.com/Directions-to-get-mrsid-support-in-GQIS-and-other-packages-using-gdal-on-Ubuntu-td3169342.html
17:17:47 sigq: Title: Nabble - qgis-user - Directions to get mrsid support in GQIS ( and other packages using gdal ) on Ubuntu ( at n2.nabble.com )
17:25:57 delrocas: Thanks wildintellect & sigq. I jumped over to #gdal and ended up in two places at once. Thanks again.
17:42:56 wildintellect: fyi sigq is a bot -in this case that fetches the titles of web pages linked in chat
17:48:33 delrocas: sigq is a bot?
18:00:45 wildintellect: yes, it's an application that sits in the channel and listens for specific things to be said, and then responds
20:42:37 delrocas: thanks wildintellect. interesting.
