04:55:48 FrankW: _wolf_: Would you like to prepare an OSGeo announcement about the projects accepted into the GSoC via OSGeo?
04:56:16 : <_wolf_> sure, I'll do it later tonight
04:57:17 FrankW: Last years announcement looked like http://www.osgeo.org/node/651 which would be fine, though a little more detail or a link to a list of participants would also be nice.
04:57:19 sigq: Title: OSGeo Welcomes Twenty Students for Google Summer of Code | OSGeo.org ( at www.osgeo.org )
04:57:35 aghisla: _wolf_: shall we wait your annouce to spread the news on specific lists?
05:08:12 : <_wolf_> FrankW: sure thing
05:09:13 : <_wolf_> aghisla: you can always refer to the Google announcement in spreading the word. If you want to start spreadding the word now you can do so. But if you want an osgeo take on it then you'll have to wait ; )
05:09:59 aghisla: will wait for official announcement then! thanks _wolf_
06:09:14 markusN: hi seven - the board meeting is tomorrow at 22hs our time?
06:09:29 crschmidt: Dear EPSG, What is the point of a universal spatial reference dictionary if you deprecate the codes you create less than 6 months later? Curse you, etc. Love, Me
06:10:32 crschmidt: awesome, and the only result on Google for "EPSG::2008.114" is someone mentioning it on the WMTS list
06:20:55 v29a: hi there
06:21:18 v29a: anyone here who could help me with these http://mateusz.loskot.net/projects/geos/ files?
06:21:19 sigq: Title: GEOS « Mateusz Loskot ( at mateusz.loskot.net )
06:33:47 vmx: v29a: have you tried the build files from svn trunk?
08:33:41 j03lar50n: wildintellect have they told you what time you're presenting at CGS?
08:34:23 wildintellect: nope, no schedule yet
08:36:39 wildintellect: I imagine it'll be up beginning of next week
08:37:37 j03lar50n: http://www.csun.edu/~calgeosoc/meetings/SYV/syv.html Conference Program ( forthcoming ) ... will check it ... interested in what some of the other talks may be as well.

08:53:40 : <_dbd_l12> ubuntu 8.04 server edition has an old version ( 2.2.3 ) of geos in its repositories. Am i forced to recompile ( just ) postgis to let it pick up the geos3 version i just compiled? Or do i have to recompile the whole chain?
11:54:18 ajturner: wildintellect: thx for the reports : )
11:54:24 ajturner: btw - try Flash 9
11:54:44 wildintellect: ajturner, no problem - uh I'll see if that's easily doable or not
11:55:44 wildintellect: at some point, maybe at Where 2.0 we should chat - I've refined my research a little and I think you'll be interested in it - working with communities to improve tools like geocommons
11:56:09 ajturner: great, I love community mapping
11:56:20 ajturner: understanding needs/interfaces/uses
11:56:30 ajturner: think it will vary quite a bit based on specific area/concerns/needs
11:56:51 wildintellect: ya, I'm heading towards, community meetings, focus groups and compare and contrast options
11:57:10 wildintellect: I'm more concerned with making sure people get how to use it
11:57:35 wildintellect: not the end of the world if it doesn't have every feature, but my research should produce a nice todo list
