02:28:31 seven: ...and conider time zones
03:59:49 danmo: CameronShorter: what time does the FOSS4G presentation submission period end today?
09:35:05 CGI593: hello all. I'm interested in using osgeo4w at our lab and I was wondering if there are any problems installing the packages on a network drive. Or do I have to install everything locally?
09:37:01 FrankW: I have installed things on a network drive.
09:37:20 FrankW: The main issue is that you need to ensure the network drive is assigned to a drive letter on client workstations and that the letter is consistent.
09:37:48 FrankW: It may also be helpful to use one machine only for doing the updates though my findings on this are inconsistent.
09:37:59 FrankW: ( update -> running setup to upgrade or install packages )
09:40:21 CGI593: FrankW: just the info I'm looking for. I'll test that setup and I'll come back if I have any more questions
12:08:52 jef: CGI593: you need to install the vcredist package on machines that don't already have it ( the msvcrt package does that )
12:11:42 jef: anyone else having difficulties to login into upload.osgeo.org?
12:12:32 FrankW: jef: it works ok for me.
12:13:26 jef: FrankW: ah, now it works for me too
15:23:19 CGI539: Hello all. I just installed qgis from osgeo4w. There is only a OSGeo4W icon on the screen and when I start qgis from the shell, I get the error message, "The system cannot execute the specified program." Btw, grass starts up fine.
15:26:29 CGI539: btw, the OS we are using is Windows XP Pro sp2
