06:14:14 aghisla: the silence that fell over you all when I told that didn't made me honoured..
06:14:27 aghisla: ( bad english )
06:14:50 aghisla: if you say it is an honour, then I'll believe it is : )
06:15:07 TylerM: heh.. it was quite impressive to be sure : )

06:15:38 aghisla: definitely!
06:16:00 aghisla: wxWidgets conspire to make me angry but with little success :P
06:16:47 aghisla: hope to make also gstat functions available before Friday
06:16:54 TylerM: i've never done any gui programming ( except in VB years ago... )
06:17:09 TylerM: .. unless html counts

06:21:32 TylerM: compiling grass now.. place your bets.. how long?
06:21:48 aghisla: hmm 5 mins
06:22:46 TylerM: hmm.. seeing lots of processor 'dips'.. lots of small processes i guess ?
06:23:21 TylerM: ah, better now.. maxing out each cpu
06:24:57 TylerM: done
06:25:01 aghisla: argh
06:25:10 TylerM: wahoo
06:25:21 TylerM: 3.5min
06:25:37 aghisla: \o/
06:26:06 TylerM: on my macbook in a linux vm it was much more painful
06:28:09 aghisla: I never got a vm work properly... not enough patience mainly
06:28:30 TylerM: your computer too slow?
06:28:44 aghisla: nope
06:29:13 aghisla: arcgis stuff and some technical programs that need hardware keys
06:29:27 TylerM: ugh..
06:29:46 aghisla: like RES2DINV for geophysical surveys
06:30:03 aghisla: and no opensource alternative
06:30:08 aghisla: ( yet )
06:32:07 TylerM: ah.. yes sounds tough
06:34:09 aghisla: I don't believe it's impossible... I wish I had time and knowledge to do it
06:34:24 TylerM: you want to run them in a windows vm on linux hostÉ
06:34:32 TylerM: arg.. keyboard :(
06:35:03 aghisla: I meant, to write an opensource equivalent
06:35:09 TylerM: ahh
06:36:41 TylerM: epifanio: i'm stuck on http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GFOSS.it_Live_DVD_Install#GDAL-GRASS_Plug-In
06:36:42 sigq: Title: GFOSS.it Live DVD Install - OSGeo Wiki ( at wiki.osgeo.org )
06:37:32 epifanio: TylerM: have you compiled grass 6.x or 7 ?
06:37:43 TylerM: 7svn
06:38:10 TylerM: sry, getting more info.. one sec : )
06:38:18 epifanio: humm :- ) .. so, the grass-gdal plug.in fails to buid ?
06:38:38 TylerM: see my private message?
06:38:50 epifanio: no :- )
06:38:51 TylerM: don't want to paste too much here ;- )
06:38:58 TylerM: oh.. darn new irc client :D
06:39:32 TylerM: configure: error: --with-grass=/usr/local/grass-7.0.svn/ requested, but libraries not found! Perhaps you need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include /usr/local/grass-7.0.svn//lib?
06:39:33 aghisla: http://osgeo.pastebin.com/ ?
06:39:35 sigq: Title: osgeo private pastebin - collaborative debugging tool ( at osgeo.pastebin.com )
06:39:37 TylerM: :o
06:39:44 TylerM: thx aghisla
06:39:57 TylerM: epifanio and I usually fill up each others irc buffers fast ;- )
06:40:01 aghisla: hahaha
06:40:03 aghisla: I guess
06:40:53 epifanio: have you added in /etc/ld.so.con.d/grass.conf with : "/usr/local/grass-7.0.svn/lib"
06:41:31 TylerM: good catch!
06:41:42 TylerM: thanks, no i haven't.. i thought I ran that part already but guess not :(
06:42:36 TylerM: not sure why it didn't save that part.. i'm making .sh scripts to run your process
06:43:59 epifanio: then run ldconfig ... but look : i tried to build gdal+grass7 plug-in yesterday on a debian sid, and it fails, so i suggest you to build grass6.5 .. it worked ( you can try later grass7 svn up , maybe some core changes in act )
06:44:24 TylerM: ok
06:44:33 TylerM: i'm almost done for the day anyway.. got to get outside
06:55:13 TylerM: time for breakfast.. bbl
06:55:17 TylerM: ciao
06:55:21 aghisla: ciauz!
07:11:20 milovanderlinde1: anyone seen jticheler today?
07:11:36 crschmidt: not on IRC
07:11:49 crschmidt: not for several days
07:12:26 milovanderlinde1: He's been to Bolsena maybe he added a vacation
07:13:14 TylerM: true.. i think he's home just now
07:24:51 aghisla: a new bunch of photos of the bolsena hackfest will come soon on flickr, stay tuned!
07:28:16 milovanderlinde1: does anyone know a rough figure on how many people will be expected at foss4g2009? rough as in 100, 1k, 5k
07:29:06 crschmidt: less than 5k, more than 100
07:29:26 aaime: last two times it has been something between 500 and 800 afaik
07:29:33 crschmidt: I believe South Africa was specced for up to 1000 and got 500-600
07:29:41 crschmidt: I believe Victoria had 700-800
07:29:55 crschmidt: I think numbers are leaning more towards Victoria than SA
07:30:06 milovanderlinde1: Victoria was home ground, but back then foss4g was not as well known as now
07:30:58 milovanderlinde1: I am trying to set some sort of comparing to State of the Map which is held in the Netherlands this year...
07:31:06 milovanderlinde1: comparison
07:31:28 aaime: I would not underestimate the fact AU is very far from Europe. SA was at least somewhat comfortable from europe still, this time the travel is going to be 2x longer for EU people
07:31:59 crschmidt: same distance, but cheaper, for norte americanos, I believe
07:32:12 crschmidt: p/me won't be going, but did look at flights at one point
07:32:24 aaime: you wont' be there? darn...
07:32:52 milovanderlinde1: I know at least 5 people going from the Netherlands
07:33:04 milovanderlinde1: Less went to SA
07:33:18 crschmidt: the plural of anecdote is not, contrary to popular belief, data : )
07:33:21 milovanderlinde1: Sorry, let me rephrase that
07:33:36 milovanderlinde1: crschmidt; you are so right
07:34:29 pramsey: good to hear people are going to sydney, I am.
07:34:29 crschmidt: I think it's likely that we'll see more people in Sydney
07:34:35 pramsey: I don't want to be lonely.
07:35:36 aghisla: we could move sydney in europe and I'll attend too
07:37:46 steko: aghisla, just wait for barcelona 2010!
07:37:57 : * milovanderlinde1 waits for Barcelona too
07:38:00 aghisla: it's so distant in time..
07:38:51 aghisla: for sure there will be the 3rd hackfest in bolsena before. good.
07:38:54 milovanderlinde1: I think people not going like myself will be more lonely then pramsey ;- )
07:39:21 milovanderlinde1: put webcams up, have a internet radio station broadcast the noise from the trade floor
07:41:56 aghisla: : )
09:49:55 epifanio: hi, anyone has a geonames table inside postgresql or other db .. and can export it to csv or similar ?
11:18:02 aaime: yo sevenn
11:18:15 aaime: any other juicy photo from bolsena coming?
11:18:18 aaime: ( seven )
11:18:44 : * seven will upload more later tonight...
11:18:53 aaime: great : )
11:29:15 j03lar50n: anyone messed with gEarth caching? i'm wondering if there's a way to merge dbCache.dat files
11:29:50 seven: Survey anyone?
11:29:52 seven: My choices are Frank, Carl & Ed ( in that order ) æ http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=r7PeX4HcvoTR8GVGWrG_2byQ_3d_3d
